Are You a Car-Shopping Audiophile? Check Out The Stereo System That Comes With The Car!
08/10/2017Hi-fi Systems From Denon and Pioneer Bagged High Position in My Speakers Top List.
10/12/2017S ometimes I wonder as to what goes through the mind of a manufacturer, and in particular why some manufacturers cannot match the demands of the 21st century. Today’s manufacturers need not rest, because the consumers are asking for more every day and your competitors want to edge you out of business. Those who have not taken heed of the evolving times have faced the full wrath of the market. Having said that, there is strong evidence that some companies are doing everything possible to meet the demands of their consumers. These include Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha and Onkyo, these companies must be burning the midnight oil to keep up with technology. I tried to go through the mind of their engineers to find out how they are packaging those sounds for us.
DENON
This sound dynamo has tried to live up to its promise of encompassing technology to produce versatile and uncompromising products which meet the needs of home theatre enthusiasts and beginners.
They have tried to deliver ultimate audio and video experience by using every bit of modern technology in the world of video and audio. They have been able to incorporate the 4k ultra HD processing, HDMI, Dolby Atmos to their receivers to bring out an experience that is unrivalled. Not to mention the capability for streaming music from available home networks. Nowadays, internet radio is a must and Denon have assured their clients they will continue enjoying additional tuners with AM/FM featuring HD radios.
The use of advanced video processor technology to upscale and transcode standard definition and high definition to 4K ultra-HD with deep colour support is on point and makes you enjoy videos as if you are part of the performance.
Where they are using the duo subwoofers, like in the AVR-7200WA, they have been able to hit the precision measurement very well and you are able to enjoy a balanced degree of sound, thanks to high resolution audio technologies which includes the full Audyssey Platinum suite.
PIONEER
With their many years of experience, Pioneer is not about to see anyone threaten their market share. It’s like they rebound by saying wherever you try to go you will find us there. They are not left behind with the use of modern technologies like the Dolby Atmos, 4k, streaming capabilities, and in-depth use of capacities to tune the right power to produce a noise-free sound.
To attain a powerful bass, which has been the driving force for Pioneer products ever since my first experience with them, they have been able to tap into the power of the D3 amplifier and high power simultaneous multi-channel drive. Furthermore, to eliminate heating, and have a fast response and improve efficiency, they have been able to fix direct power FET that works tremendously well.
I found the use of OP-amp IC which transmits signal to direct power FET and reducing the influence of residue noise to be the reason for the ideal sound.
Actually, they have attained the optimum high signal-to-noise ratio which maximizes the full potential of class D3 amplifiers due to the use of Ultra DAC ES9016s.
Dolby Atmos has achieved to realize the experience of 3D movements of music and videos attaining the smooth, curving movements feel.
YAMAHA
I believe we are yet to see the best of Yamaha. They will continue trending in the sound industry for a long time to come thanks to their craftsmanship in engineering design.
To attain a maximum high ridge with minimal distortion, they have been able to use discrete power amplifiers. For minimal noise levels, use of premiere DAC ES 9026PRO has worked remarkably.
Availability of XLR input terminal is a way of saying we are moving away from the rest, because with this feature you are able to attain a professional audio only known to be a preserve of the professional media because of its clarity due to its sensitivity to noise.
To improve signal to noise ration especially where there are two channels, the two are physically and electronically isolated, I am sure these are the fruits of advanced sound labs the company has invested in.
Using the anti-resonance technology, they have been able to kill two birds with one stone. First it dampens the vibrations from the power transformer, power transistors and vibrations that might be caused by the sound from the speakers, and then it helps to sink the heat.
Yamaha has promised that mentioning things like 4K ultra HD full support for high-definition movie quality is nothing because they achieved that a long time ago.
Remember with Yamaha, you are able to access your digital music library, streaming music, internet radio, blue tooth and external sources right from any part of your home, thanks to Music Cast technology.
Dolby Atmos on the other hand lets you enjoy a multidimensional sound better than in a live performance.
ONKYO
ONKYO has also embraced the use of the latest Dolby Atmos technology while combining it with the use of inbuilt 3D space which leads to a feeling of sound seamlessly moving above and around you.
This sound giant has managed to use Accu EQ to calibrate the system to suit the home space. Just imagine you fix the speakers and microphone and the system measures the speaker distances, crossover and output while putting into account sonic reflections from walls and floors. It then bypasses the speakers, optimizing the frequencies to achieve a balanced surround-sound regardless of room shape and furniture.
ONKYO’s sound systems have tried to go to great length to eliminate distortion. This has been achieved by using a massive high-power transformer which preserves the energy of music and movies.
Using Qdeo technology, on the other hand, has made it possible to automatically be able to upscale Low-res video to liquid smooth 1080p for HDTV and 4K 3840 x 2160p with compatible UHD display.
With ONKYO, you are sure to find your system fit that can even play Hi-res audio and able to play DSD, Double DSD, FLAC and ALAC along with other Hi-Res formats.
I don’t have to mention that their products are tech age-compliant, have the means available to access internet radio, stream using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and include support for HDMI.
Therefore, according to my observations, which I hope you can concur with me, these 4 sound tech giants are doing remarkably well to position themselves as market leaders in the world of sound. But who do you think has been able to outdo the others and taken the leading position as the number one provider of sound receivers in 2017?
